New Tips Hardware
what is mother board?
A motherboard is the main printed circuit
board (PCB) found in general
purpose microcomputers and other expandable systems. It holds and allows
communication between many of the crucial electronic components of a system,
such as the central
processing unit (CPU) and memory, and
provides connectors for other peripherals.
Unlike a backplane, a motherboard usually contains significant
sub-systems such as the central processor, the chipset's input/output and
memory controllers, interface connectors, and other components integrated for
general purpose use and applications. Motherboard specifically refers to a PCB with expansion capability and as the name
suggests, this board is often referred to as the "mother" of all
components attached to it, which often include peripherals,
interface cards, sound cards, video cards, network cards, hard drives,
or other forms of persistent storage; TV tuner cards,
cards providing extra USB or FireWire slots and a variety of other custom components.
what is CMOS?
CMOS stands for Complementary Metal Oxide
Semiconductor. It’s not a device so to speak but a manufacturing process for
producing specific chips such as image sensors (CMOS sensors) and converters.
It’s used mainly in computer chips that don’t require much power but still need
to run when the computer is off. An example is the RTC or Real Time Clock chip
that keeps track of time and tells the OS what the time is even your computer
is off, this chip still runs.
write the troubleshooting of display problem of
computer?
The troubleshooting of
display problem of computer are as follow:-
1. Run a thorough virus scan
2. Update your software
3. Cut down on the bloat
4. Test your Wi-Fi connection
5. Reinstall the operating system
Write the full form of GPU,UPS&ALU.
GPU:- Graphics Processing Unit
UPS:- Unlimitied Logic Unit
ALU:- Arithmetic Logic Unit
Write the different between
processer and hard disk.
The different between processer and hard disk are:-
Hard disk
Ø
Hard
Disk is a drive, which provides you to store your data for a long time.
Ø
data
like music, images, videos and files are saved by hard disk.
Ø
Its
basic measuring units are Gigabytes (GB) and Terabytes (TB).
Ø
You
can uninstall and save new data according to your demand.
Ø
In
case of more storage requirement, you can use external hard disk drive as
well.
Processer
Ø
A
processor is the logic circuitry that responds to and processes the basic instructions that drive a computer.
Ø
It
carries out arithmetic and logic operations on the operands in instructions.
Ø
It
performs arithmetical, logical, input/output (I/O) and other basic instructions
that are passed from an operating system (OS).
Ø
It is the “brain”
of the computer.
Ø
All
the functions are processed by its two main function ALU (Arithmetic Logic
Unit) and CU (Control Unit)
Write the different between storage
device and Output device
. The
different between storage device and output devices are:-
Ø A storage device is any computing hardware that is used
for storing, porting and extracting data files and objects.
Ø It can hold and store information both temporarily and
permanently, and can be internal or external to a computer, server or any
similar computing device.
Ø A storage device may also be known as a storage medium
or storage media.
Ø Examples:- Hard disk, Dvds and Cds etc.
Ø An output device is any device used to
send data from a computer to another device or user.
Ø Most computer data output that is
meant for humans is in the form of audio or video.
Ø most output devices used by humans are
in these categories.
Ø Examples:- monitors, projectors,
speakers, headphones and printers etc.
How to set date and time from
DOS?
We set date and time from DOS by followings
ways:-
Ø Right-click or
tap on the date and time in the Windows
Notification Area in
the bottom right corner of the screen.
Ø Click Adjust date/time.
Ø Make sure
your Time zone is
set properly if your computer is displaying the wrong time.
Ø To manually
adjust the time, turn off the Set
time automatically option and then click the Change button.
The
steps of Reset CMOS are following ways:-
1.
Power
down your computer.
2.
Unplug
your computer from any power sources.
3.
Remove
your computer's battery if necessary.
4.
Discharge
any static electricity before continuing.
5.
Open
your case.
6.
Remove the CMOS battery.
7.
Press your power button.
8.
Re-insert the CMOS battery.
9.
Reassemble your computer.
10. Reconnect your computer's power source(s).
11. Turn back on your computer.
Write
the steps of install Driver.
The steps of install Driver are
followings ways:-
1.
Understand that most drivers install automatically.
2.
Make sure that you're connected to
the Internet.
3.
Connect your item to your computer.
4.
Follow any on-screen instructions.
5.
Try manually installing the drivers.
6.
Restart your computer.
When your computers automatically
restart so, what you do ?
1. Disable the
Automatically restart feature
2. Check the hardware issue
3. Update all the drivers
4. Run a virus scan
Why are you using Jumper setting
in hard disk & CD ROM?
because
if you connect pata hard disk and CD rom with one cable so need jumper setting
make one of slave and another master.
Jumper
are used to configure the
settings for computer peripherals in hard disk.
jumper
are used to CD ROM to restart the settings.
What is internal command and external
command?
Internal Command
An internal
command is an MS-DOS command that is stored in the system memory and
loaded from the command.com or
cmd.exe. The illustration shows how
commands contained within command.com are part of the command.com file.
However, with the external commands, each of the commands are their own separate
file.
External
command
An external command is an MS-DOS command
that is not included in command.com. External commands are commonly external
either because they require large requirements or are not commonly used
commands. The illustration shows each of the external commands are separate
files. However, the internal commands are all included in the command.com file.
14.What
is Dos?
The system that makes the disk operate able according to the
instruction is called Dos. It is a basic knowledge of computer. It is based on
CUI (Character User Interface) and it is single tasking operating system. It is
called single user Operating system. It can use only a single terminal. It is used
to describe several very similar command line disk operating systems.
The two external commands are:-
1.)
Ms-Dos command
2.)
External Dos command
16.Write
any three internal commands.
The three internal commands are:-
1.)
Dir
2.)
MD (Make Directory)
3.)
Copy con
17.Write any five value of Display resolution.
The five value of Display resolution are:-
Ø XGA (Extended Graphics Array)=1024x768
Ø SXGA (Super XGA)=1280x1024
Ø UXGA (Ultra XGA)=1600x1200h
Ø QXGA (Quad XGA)=2048x1536
Ø WXGA (Wide XGA)=1280x800
18. How to
change color of DOS’s screen?
1.
Open
CMD.
2.
Right click on the title bar.
3.
Select the properties.
4.
Click on color option.
5.
Select the color.
6.
